FAQ
Assembly Row is a new neighborhood in Somerville—but it’s much more than your average outlet shopping center. Assembly Row is a place where people come to eat, shop, live, work, and hang out.
Public restrooms are located in the Artisan Way garage between Striderite and AVA apartments. Here is the directory map.
Check out all our parking locations and directions, and even buy a parking spot online here. You have several parking options, including parking garages (one near AMC movie theatre and one on Artisan Way between Strideride and AVA apartments). Additional parking is now available at 255 Grand Union Blvd, adjacent to Partners Healthcare and the Canal St. garage across from the T stop. Want to park on the street? Please remember that the meters on the street are owned and monitored by The City of Somerville and are functional!
There is public wifi available near J.P. Licks.
Despite the construction, all stores will stay open throughout the year. When the construction project is complete (2020), we will have over 100 stores and restaurants.
We have a Century Bank ATM right outside the door near Southern Kin and Papagayo Mexican Kitchen.
Assembly Row gift cards are no longer sold, but you can still purchase gift cards from individual stores.

Assembly Row currently does not offer strollers for rent.
The parking rate structure has changed to controlled parking to ensure more parking spaces will be available for Assembly Row visitors. Visitors will continue to receive the first 3 hours of parking for FREE, with no validations needed.
Assembly Row wants to continue encourage retail employees and restaurant visitors to visit often. We find payment for parking unnecessary for regular short-term visitors.
The parking equipment accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards.
Unfortunately, cash is not accepted as a payment method for Assembly Row parking. We use a credit and debit card-only system to help expedite the parking process for visitors. Credit cards are a faster form of payment, and help reduce the amount of time spent at the entrance and exit gates.
The new ticketless system was designed to prevent paper ticket loss and to speed up the parking process.
Any bank-issued Visa or MasterCard debit card will work with the Assembly Row parking system.
Assembly implemented a ticketless parking system to reduce paper consumption. By eliminating tickets, we’re trying to limit our carbon footprint.
When you insert your credit or debit card into the entrance machine, a time clock is stamped and the parking equipment automatically begins calculating the length of your parking stay.
At the exit gate, press the ‘Receipt’ button on the machine after you’ve inserted your credit card for payment.
Your credit card information is automatically erased as soon as you exit the garage.
Vehicles will only be towed if the customer has parked for over 3 hours at the Marketplace surface lot. The towing company who services the lot is Stephen’s Automotive.
Less than 3 hours is FREE
3-4 hours is $2
4-5 hours is $3
5-6 hours is $15
6 hours+ is $25
We have implemented a ticketless system to expedite the parking process. Insert your credit card at the entrance gate, and it will trigger your start time. Re-insert that same credit card at exit, and the machine will automatically calculate the amount owed. The first 3 hours are free.
Customer pay at the exit gates where they’ll insert the same credit card that was used at the entrance gate.
The machines will recognize that you’ve parked for less than 3 hours, and your card will not be charged.
Your credit card information will be erased as soon as you exit the garage. Credit card information is also erased after exiting the garage for customers who have paid for parking.
Our neighborhood is growing, and we want to ensure that ample parking is available for Assembly Row customers. Our controlled parking system will help us provide the best experience possible while still offering 3 hours of free parking.
The controlled parking system was activated in July 2018.
All of the garages are will follow this same system. The Marketplace parking lot is a 3-hour free parking lot—anyone parking longer than 3 hours is subject to be towed from that lot.
The parking at Assembly Row is managed by SP+, a national and publicly-held company. It is against the SP+ corporate policy to store credit card information of any kind.
Outside of each garage, there is a LED-light indicator, which tells if there is vacancy in each garage. The Artisan West Garage has been equipped with overhead sensors that display a green light if a parking space is available, or a red light if a parking space is taken.
Please contact the parking office for any payment disputes. They can be reached at 617-356-2671 and AssemblyParking@spplus.com
The equipment is programmed to accept all credit and debit cards that are Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. If the machine isn’t accepting your card, please make sure that you’re inserting your card with the magnetic strip down and facing the right-hand side. If there are still issues, please call 617-356-2671.
The Assembly Row garages only accept credit card payment at this time.
